Yeah, I know today it's not actually the Link's birthday, Zelda's anniversary or anything. XD
This is just an idea that I had when I was playing the Wind Waker HD version, I always had much fun breaking this treasure spheres whenever they appeared, with a lot of prizes flying out of them. I couldn't avoid yelling in mind "PIÑATA" everytime one was on the screen. (My mind works in the silliest ways possible )
And, if I recall correctly, the game events started in Link's birthday. After all of that happened, he never had the time to celebrate properly, so... both ideas blended together in this picture, and there you have it.
Also, I'm pretty sure Piñatas are a worldwide recognize tradition by now, but I'm gonna explain anyways. Basically It's an Hispanic tradition to break one of this on birthday celebrations (pretty common in kids parties) usually filled with candies and other treats.
Link and every character depicted belongs to NINTENDO (c) Obviously

Well, Toon Link did start his adventure the day Wind Waker was released. And since the first thing that happens in that game is Link being told it's his Birthday, in a way, Wind Waker's release date is now Toon Link's Birthday according to my headcanon.
